Technology can help you achieve the perfect smile -- and lift the spirits of perfect strangers.

It’s a brand new year, and for some, a new beginning brings an extra spring in their step and a wide grin from ear to ear. It may come as no surprise that being surrounded by happy vibes and positive facial expressions can rub off on your own level of optimism.

Emotions are contagious, and a smile can induce a feeling of pleasure in the observer, even a complete stranger.

Have you ever heard of smile training? A Japanese railway company has set up innovative 'smile-meters' - computers installed with smile-rating software and a digital camera - at several of its busiest stations so employees can check to make sure their grin is 'correct' before heading off to face customers.

Just imagine a smile meter on every street corner to help combat even the most serious cases of 'Monday-itis'!

Wherever you go, your smile can encourage others.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.
(John 15:11).

The happiness of followers of Christ cannot be hidden! It is the will of God for you to be full of joy! It will be catching to those who rub shoulders with you!
